I guess around 10-15 Gbytes. Is anyone going to provide an answer or do we get to take up more space fighting over it? ;)
I don't mind fighting for it. Sooner or later one of us will be right!:D

This also leads to the question...

What are MacRumor's hardware specs? (or is this a big secret?)
I would like to know this too....but all I know is that they have 3 servers. Maybe this is a mod secret;)

MacRumors is the universe. It will continue expanding at a rate faster than man (or broadband) can travel in all directions. Therefore, we shall never truly know it's exact size at any one time.

Either that, or it's 43MB. I haven't decided which.

I'll guess it's about 5 GB. You have to remember a lot of the pics in photo threads are actually hosted elsewhere.

Hmmmm - Something's happened that will have made its size an intsy bit smaller!

After I set this thread up last night (UK), some guy was the first 'poster', came out with a question like was my query a 'how many jellybeans in the jar' sort of thing. I replied that I supposed it was.

And now I see that his post and my reply have ----- gone!!! Disappeared!
What would all that have been about?

I bet it fits on a floppy.
Actually, it takes several of them now. Here is last night's backup:

8.75 inches.

No, really! In terms of rack space it is. :)

The database is 5.64GB at the moment, but actually running the site will use up more space than that because of the software needed, other data files, logs etc.
