Hi, I have not done any video editing for 20 years. The last time I did it was using iMovie on Mac and Premiere on a PC. At that time 4K videos was not a thing. For doing some light 4K videos editing, about how much disk space per year should I take into account? Let's say no more than 20 5-minute 4K videos per year.

I have several downloaded 4K mkv videos and each are in the range of 1GB each. My 4K MOV videos from my 12 Pro Max run about 500MB per minute. So it can vary depending on source & format.

Thanks. What format for 4K videos do people use these days?

What device are you using to take the videos?

On my iPhone X I saw 4K data rates that ran from 22 Mbps (2.75 MB/s) to 100 Mbps (12.5 MB/s - 750 MB/minute - 45 GB/hour. If you are shooting on an iPhone in ProRes the rate increases to maybe 80-140 MB/s, 3-12 GB/minute.

Most likely iPhone 6S+ or iPad Pro M1.
