Anytime within one year of purchase.

^^ Yup, but sometimes it takes a few days after you activate your specific account so do allow for several business days (before your 1 year is up). 😛

In this case you have 12 months from your date of purchase (I think, you should probably check to be sure).

i wouldn't buy applecare, your better off buying some decent laptop insurance, that way if you accidentally drop it you'll get it replaced or get the money.
