I registered earlier this year as part of a class project.

Well now that class is over, and someone today has emailed me asking about maybe taking it off my hands.

I don't want to be silly and ask for $20,000 but I do think it's a good name, and should get something for this little piece of internet property. But I don't want to ask too much, and be a jerk.

I was thinking $200 does that sound reasonable? Too low? Too high?

His current web site is located here.

Depends what the buyer is willing to pay.

    I sold empty for $700.

I asked $58,000 for (with a 7 year strong website and community and great traffic) and they didn't go for it.

    All depends.
If the buyer is highly motivated and can see the profit potential in it, then at least $250.

I just paid $250 for one, but it was a case where I really couldn't come up with another name or find a similar one that wasn't going to cost more. Originally the buyer wanted $450.

What are the other similar names available? if public-dynamics is available or anything like it, then it'll be worth less.

I sold a really nice domain about 8 years ago for $4k. Probably should have held on to it longer, but I was happy for the money. Wasn't planning on selling it, either. The company just contacted me about it.

I have a few I want to sell now, but I'm not sure how to go about it.

    $200 is too little.
I would ask for something around $1k.

If they complain you can always go lower.

PS -- my ex boyfriend and I once offered domain owners $25k for a cool domain name - - but they wouldn't go for it.
