Apple is pure profit company; that is they only care about profits post-SteveJobs era so here are your prices:

$649/$699 = 16GB
$849 = 64GB
$999 = 128GB

it will not start at $499.

Just curious why you feel that Apple's "pure profit" structure is a "Post-Jobs" thing. The $100 storage tiers are the absolute biggest rip off in Apple's product history and that happened DURING Jobs reign so why does he get exempt?

Anyway, the thing that eats me up about my unsubsidized iPhone 6+ is this:

$299 - iPhone 6 (Contract)
$399 - iPhone 6+ (Contract)

$599 - iPhone 6 (No Contract)
$749 - iPhone 6+ (No Contract)

Whats with charging $100 more on contract but $150 more on unsubsidized?

So if it comes to differentiating an "iPad Pro" from the rest then I can easily see them charging a $200 premium for no reason other than a little extra profit.

It would be in line with how Apple currently treats the iPad Air and iPad mini, as well as how Apple now treats the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, to make it the same price as the Air +$100 across the board. But that's just a guess.
