If it looks just like the stainless steel watch, i don’t see any reason to pay additional money for it. Make it out of white ceramic like previous Edition watches and I’ll upgrade (up to $1300 plus tax + AC+).

If it could replace my recreational dive computer I would pay $999. Just make it water tight and add a depth sensor and software.

If not, the cheapest base model is fine for me.

I’d say a maximum of £450 for a smartwatch that I only keep for 3 years. I never got onboard with the stainless and titanium models as I didn’t see the worth in a slightly more expensive casing material. I’ve always had the aluminium watches as I use them for fitness and the price point suits.

I really don’t understand who Apple are aiming this Pro watch at considering it’s rumoured to be the same price as an iPhone 14 Pro. When you consider the fitness watch market with Garmins half the price, is this Watch aimed at the wealthy fitness enthusiast who thinks the Pro will get those extra admiring looks in the gym or what lol? Seems like a really odd product that is rumoured to bring better battery life which is something of a common complaint for Apple Watch wearers. We complain about battery life so Apple improve it by putting it on a £1k smartwatch, thanks Apple

I’ll probably stick with my Series 7 graphite. Will probably upgrade the Watch next year.

With a 7 day battery life, about $1200
6 day battery, about $1000
5 days battery life $8-900
4 days battery $7-800
3 days battery life is the minimum I'd accept, and $6-700

No, the prices aren't realistic but this shows the high value *I* place on battery life. The likely <3 day battery life shows my perception of the Apple Watches value. With a 1-2 day battery life I'd pay a couple hundred dollars for a used Apple Watch Pro, tops.

Apple, please get back to me when you solve your battery problem.

Tom

Might as well just ask, "What's your net worth?"

For people that care about price AT ALL, the only Apple Watch worth getting is the basic aluminum model with AppleCare+ in case it breaks. It's a piece of tech, it's going to be useless within a few years regardless if you pay $400 or $1000.

If you really care about price, you wouldn’t be wasting your money on AppleCare+.

Why buy one every year when the changes are typically marginal? I have a series 5 and haven’t seen a reason to “upgrade“

I have seen a reason to upgrade. Simple as that. Same reason I upgrade almost every generation of MacBook, iMac, iPhone and iPad.

We're just a few days away from when Apple is expected to announce the Apple Watch "Pro," an entirely new Apple Watch explicitly designed for athletes and customers who want a more robust and durable Apple Watch.

Apple-Watch-Pro-Feature.jpg

The Apple Watch "Pro" has been described as a "rugged" Apple Watch that will feature a new design, a larger display and battery, and more durable materials to make it more suitable for athletes and those who are active. Those improvements won't come without an additional cost, however, with the new model priced above most versions in the current lineup.

The new Apple Watch will likely sit at the higher end of the Apple Watch lineup, likely replacing the Apple Watch Edition as the more expensive model in the lineup. To make things easier, we've put together a quick comparison chart comparing the Apple Watch Edition and the Apple Watch "Pro" below.

Apple Watch Series 7 Edition
  • Case Material: Titanium
  • Case Design: Rounded edges and curved display around the sides
  • Sizes: 41mm or 45mm
  • Display Material: Sapphire front crystals
  • Health Features: ECG, Blood Oxygen, Heart Rate notifications
  • Special Features: None
  • Price: $799 - $849

Apple Watch 'Pro'
  • Case Material: Stronger titanium alloy with improved impact resistance
  • Case Design: "An evolution of the current rectangular shape," according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman
  • Sizes: 47-48mm with 7% larger display
  • Display Materials: Improved crack and scratch resistance for athletes
  • Health Features: ECG, Blood Oxygen, Heart Rate notifications, and body temperature sensor
  • Special Features: Improved watchOS UI to show additional activity metrics thanks to the larger display
  • Price: Around $900 - $1,000

Knowing what you know now, we want to know how much you would be willing to pay for an Apple Watch "Pro." Let us know in the comments below, and check out our guide for everything we know about the upcoming Apple Watch lineup.

$1200-$1500 is fine. Apple needs to send a message. That the Pro is not for the proletatiat.

The problem with the Apple Watch is that it's a consumable accessory. If you use the watch every day, the battery degrades in about ~3 years to the point where it's barely, if even making it through your entire day.

I think the current price is the maximum I'm willing to pay for something that will need to be replaced in 3-4 years. If they somehow (they won't) engineered the battery to be easily swapped, maybe it would be a different conversation.
Yes it’s a disposable device. To make it “elite” Apple should intentionally build in self-destruction after 24 months to the day from purchase. Now that would give the Apple Watch truly “Unique” Status! Where’s the line?

Would LOVE to get a 47-48mm watch, but not at that price - trade in values for the AW are awful and you may as well give it away to family/friend or just keep it. So...come next year, maybe the 47-48mm will be in a Sport or even SS models(?), I'd rather have that at a lower price.

Off topic...I would love, need to see a "One More Thing" surprise like we did w/ AW in Sept. 2014.
We have the new phones, new watches...new Air Pods I think. At the end..with all these rumors for years about AR / Apple Glass. Give us that, I personally would love to see it even if it may be delayed.

You don’t like the prices of the new AW Pro and you find trade in values to be “awful”. Why are you even an Apple consumer?

The problem I am facing with my Apple Watch lately is that I am just too used to it now? Like I almost forget it is hanging on my wrist and thus I rarely interact with it anymore besides checking the time. I have also gotten numb to the haptic Feedback like somehow I don’t feel it anymore when I receive a notification.

watchOS also hasn’t really changed in 3 years besides additional watch faces
As a dissatisfied and disinterested user—- Why are you even in this forum? to complain?

If it’s bigger, nothing at all. Actually, I can’t think of nothing they could do to make me and more than the steel model coats. Certainly not just using a more expensive metal nor marketing reasons.

About a grand , maybe a bit more …

Tbh if you look at the mind blowing things it can do compared to a normal watch it’s a bargain

Then again I bought the ss graphite and the weight annoys me a lot , my brother has the aluminium one and it’s scratch free and so much lighter , might end up getting one .

Nah, I think people would just see it still as just an Apple Watch. Wrong brand if the whole status symbol image is your thing mate to be brutally honest lol.
