I just spent €200 on a really cool pair from Absolut Joy (Italian fashion label). They're studded down all the seams and the rear pockets are covered in horsehair.

But the record was £180 for a one off pair from a shop in Soho, London. Decorated in Silver paint designs. Made me look like a mobile glitter ball :D

Don't know the name, but it's on the south side of Brewer St and has a dark red frontage.

$30 if my arm is being twisted, $15 usually.

I know where to find deals and it helps that I don't wear the ultra mega low rise jeans with diamond beading accents that are in such high demand that the company can charge $80 a pair for them.
:D

Don't forget the fact that they are already faded for you and have holes put in them. :D

I am a Levi's man so no more than whatever the current going rate at Goody's is (usually 30-40).

For my wife, though, it's a different story. She rarely finds a pair of jeans/pants that do her justice/that she likes. So I'd happily spend 80 if they made her feel good. Fortunately, she's recently discovered a few pairs of Levis at 30 that she likes, so I think we're good for a while. Ahhh, the joys of shopping with women. (No offense to the ladies out there).

I don't even ask what any of my wife's clothes cost anymore. If she's happy with them then I guess I can't complain.

Hey, that's cool. The shop between the Hemp Trading Co and Coffea is in the right place, but I could have sworn it was painted red. I'm talking nearly three years ago, so I don't suppose a paint job is out of the question :)

Looking at the link again though, it does look like the window frames on the shop are dark red. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me and it was always painted like that.

BTW, student trap, if you're in that area, wander up to D'Arblay St and have a look in Nico Didonna. I've got loads of shirts from there and they always get compliments.

Hell, I'm reluctant to pay more than $30 for an entire outfit right now, much less a pair of jeans.

you couldn't do that in the UK, over here your looking at £50 for jeans, £25 for a shirt and about £35 for shoes! thats £110 ($200)

Stuff is just more expensive, for example, converse chuck taylors cost about £35 ($65)!!!

Who said I buy them new? ;) I find some of the most interesting clothing at consignment, vintage shops and thrift stores. Much of my wardrobe now is either from one of those or was given to me.

ahh good call, and if i may say...the best way to shop. Problem is though, with the vintage and charity shops in london you have to be quick, as the good stuff goes fast. Also, with the vintage shops, they are as expensive as buying new!!!

i only buy a pair of jeans once every year or two, and i pay bare minimum... the ones im wearing right now cost about £25 but theyre all i need... i dont spend much on clothing, i be only a lowly student!

i got a pair of chuck taylors i used to have (outgrew them) for $8 on sale in the US.. that was a good deal ;)

$25-$35, tops. Pay any more and you're just paying for the same pair of jeans with some brand name on them, nothing more.

Very true. Rarely does paying more for jeans mean better quality. They're almost all the same. The only ones where I think the quality is subpar is when you feel the fabric and it's actually thin, and you pick up the jeans and don't think they're heavy enough. However, this isn't necessarily what happens when you buy cheap jeans. I used to own a pair of jeans from The Gap that were very cheaply made. I liked the colour, and I liked the fit (length and waist), and I didn't care about cut (at the time), but they felt cheap in my hands. I liked them anyway, but lets face it......they were crap jeans that should have cost $20 at most.

And why does everyone shop at AE and Abercrombie? AE clothes all looks worn out and faded even when it's new, and Abercrombie makes everyone look like a clone who's just spending a lot of money to look regular and to blend in. Its not special at all.

well that really takes the...

In terms of quality, GAP are rubbish, their jeans last me only a couple of months and they aren't exactly cheap. Levis last longer in my experience, (ive had a pair for about 5 years that show no sign of tearing). I think it depends how tight they are though!!!!!

I don't wear jeans... I never like the look of them and when I saw that video in World Issues class how last year, there were 300 babies bornt without brains because their mothers work in factories with harmful chemicals to
"wash" those jeans out... My ex-roomate always marvel at how can stand the "cold" of Milan and not wearing jeans... I think I should ship her to Ottawa then she'll know what is cold
