How necessary is the Apple case (or similar) for typing?

My 3G iPad will arrive god-knows-when, but in the meantime, I'm trying to grab whatever accessories are necessary before they sell out. I'm eye-ing an InCase sleeve for it, but before I pull the trigger, I'm curious about how necessary people find the angled cases for comfort of typing?

Extremely IMO or use a slanted object to type on it. Typing on my iPad as I write.

Thing is you can't see the screen well when it's flat on the table. Hencevthe needv4 a case.

I don't really have a problem typing w/ it flat in landscape mode. However if you do prefer a stand you may have something at home that will work well. Here is an example courtesy of Veronica Belmont:

And I see a Harmony One remote on the chair arm there. I approve of this person's choice of devices and cat usage. 🙂
