I use it daily. I don't stray from the notebook in public places. New? Sorry my Macbook Pro is over a year old.

p.s. if all you want to do is watch Seinfeld dvd's in bed, this will suffice...

^^ I have a 9300 Inspiron that is over 3 years old now. I rebuilt it to handle Vista. I'm only considering a new machine because it can't multi-task inside my adobe suite and lectora. It gets hot and slows down when I have heeps of software open. Only 2gigs of ram, and is maxed out.

I'm waiting for a new MBP 17 (or 18) that will go up to 8gigs of ram. (not that I need that much right now.) I'm only considering a mac because it can run my already purchased 4000$ worth of windows software via bootcamp.

I'm not a dell lover, per se, but I don't have any problems with it.

not as obsessed as I used to be, im more obsessed now with itsmemorphious on youtube than I am the new macbooks. I have come to the conclusion that we wont see anything till the 14th if we see anything at all but I am still on macrumors every day so yah. I'll also know before the 14th if they are coming, my photography professor is an apple employee and an aperture consultant so he can leak a lil info if I bug him.

My Lattitude D600 is on its last legs. I cant multitask at all (running internet explorer and windows media player for example) unless I want it to freeze up on me. The LCD broke so I have a horrible 15 in external monitor hooked up to it. Oh, and its on its side because otherwise it would overheat every time I turn it on. Im pretty sure my iphone is more powerful that my laptop at this point. I need this apple, I REALLY need this.

Yeah, I check in often. I just want a new machine. I'm hoping that the ones I see at the apple store aren't bent or hot as went the previous complaints. I'm also hoping that specs are comparable to other '09 machines on the market. I plan on my next machine lasting at least 3 years for my pro work & 5 years for family use.

As far as my Dell is concerned from my post above- I don't understand Dell haters. I'm quite convinced they never learned how to build anyway, and likely hate anything windows based because windows requires so much fine tuning and attention. Once you learn how to run a clean machine, it doesn't really matter what you have. Quite frankly, my current machine is beautiful, it's just weak and old and was never spec'd to run the programs I now run.

The only obsession that I have is making sure that people stop believe that Apple will give them Blu-ray.

I don't believe they will support blu-ray in the next update either, but I noticed you are bit overzealous about it. I mean, no one on this forum knows anything for sure (including you).

Just out of curiosity, what would you do if the update comes and there it is: blu-ray.
You would have a lot of apologies to give out.;)

Just a thought

i check a minimum of 20x a day...
COMN APPLE
IM READY TO BUY YOUR LAPTOP

I check every half hour....:(

what a waste of time....

It's only two weeks away and we have barely heard anythin recently. I'm getting worried it won't be the fourteenth. I hate what apple has turned me into.

I like my current macbook pro now it has 6GB ram. Virtual machines is a breeze now :)

I saw your thread where you show that Vista in Virtual Machine can address 4GB.. very cool. Do you know if dual channel 2x2GB gives better performance than a 4GB stick with a 2GB stick?

I can't personally say if 2x2GB is better then 1x2GB/1x4GB. Personally, I found an improvement throughout all fields with 6GB since I use virtual machines a lot and those eat ram extremely fast. I haven't found a loss of performance either. (In daily use) I just know Vista downgraded my rating from 5.1 to 4.8.

I'm using an iMac G5 right now, and have been waiting for months for Apple to update the MacBook/MBP. I check the rumor mills constantly.

Sometimes its every 10 minutes on my iphone when I'm at work. Anyone else doing the same?

I've got same worrying issues back in time, waiting for my MBP (except for the iPhone part, which I still don't have). It's curable though, so relax. Start recovering by gifting me your iPhone.

Not really. Here's how I go about denouncing the outlandish rumors:

You expect an update and it comes. You are happy.
You expect an update and it does not come. You are unjustly angry at Apple and make trolly, rant threads about how you "deserve" what they didn't give you.
You don't expect an update and it comes. You are shocked and ecstatic.
You don't expect an update and it doesn't come. You're not unjustly angry at Apple.

I shoot for the bolded ones when I tell people things. If they don't expect Blu-ray and it comes, hooray for everyone; that's spectacular. If they expect it and it doesn't come, people get all mad.
