Hey guys AirTags Talker here, I have a question for you guys.

I am planning to buy an M1 MacBook Air for school, but I kinda wanna hold out to see what happens between now and August.

my worry is Apple will stop selling M1 MBA’s as refurbished, do they frequently restock refurbished models like they’re just any other product? Or do they get discontinued until they somehow manage to scrounge up enough parts for a refurbished?

furthermore, I’m worried that many other students like myself will be buying these. Should I buy them now, or will they sell like hot cakes near the end of July? It would suck if they are out of stock and I can’t get a computer for my first semester.

also a refurbished MBA’s are $1099 ($200 off) from $1299, but with an education discount, it’s still $1099 ($70 off) but they discounted the original price to 1229??

Anyway thanks guys, I’ll see you in the next one

I haunted the Refurb store every hour or so for several days but there were zero Minis--plenty of other m1 Macs, but zero Minis. Then a bunch of Minis appeared on Tuesday evening around 7pm California time and I bought a 16/512 unit. By noon the next day they were all gone.

I’m taking no chances next time… the one I wanted is gone after I last checked several hours ago

I grabbed an 8GB/512 MBA M1 last night. Glad I was able to save some cash on a machine that will really exist to address about 30% of my workflow while the IPP handles the rest.

This MBA was only going to be used for university for me

This is common with refurbished stuff. Stock just comes and goes. Sometimes they do a big dump and there’s stock for a few days. You never know. If you’re worried they’ll replace the Air soon don’t be, I highly doubt it.
