I understand you should calibrate once a month, but I was wondering how far you all let it drop in the meantime

Do you charge your iPad every night no matter what the percentage is...
...or what level do you wait for it to hit before you do put it on the charger?

No particular time for charging. Running it down to 20% before charging will not do less hard than recharging at 70%. I have never done the monthly calibration thing on nay of my 3 iPads or iPhones and all have worked perfectly!

Just charge when you want and relax!:)

I plug it in every night, but it's usually at about 80%, so I could go another few days if I wanted to. Just easier to remember to plug it and the iPhone in every night.

Nightly, whether it needs it or not. Same for iPhone. Occasionally on a Sat or Sun I can wear that battery down to 30% or so, but during the week I'm rarely below 85% when I put it on the charger.

Could probably do to skip 2 nights, but I like my gadgets topped off.

Here's absolutely everything you need to know.

Apple has the best info on their site of nearly any manufacturer.

Whenever it gets in the low 60% range. Usually that is every 2-3 days. I use my iPad about 2 hours a day, mostly w/ WiFi not LTE, and @ low to mid brightness for reference.

Usually when I go below 20% or if I know that I have to use it the next day, I will charge it overnight regardless of the battery left.

I've gotten into the habit of charging every night. It's not necessary, though. I could easily go two days on a charge.

I alternate between the iphone and ipad every night so once every two days.

I'm using my iPad (3) anywhere from 3-6 hours a day...I use it often for my business. Usually, in the evening before bed I've still got over 50% juice left...my business is audio and video production. So using the iPad for video cuts, playback, and audio sample sharing between producers and engineers tends to be pretty lenient on the battery. I tend to charge each night while asleep for a 100% charge in the morning. I have yet to run it down to "0"--and I've owned each iteration of the pad:)

Jer

I do, however, carry a Mophie charge pack with a 4000 ma/h (?) battery--so it will charge my iPhone twice---or give me about an 8% charge on the new iPad...LOL...just figured that out while responding. These are BIG batteries in the new iPad--I think a bit bigger than my 11" air? WoW!

Usually every 4-5 days, I don't use the iPad THAT much

anytime I get under 10% I make it fully drain and then fully charge it.
Is doing that bad? Like should I be doing that only around once a month?
or every week or two also acceptable?

Supposedly, it's not ideal to fully drain Li-ion batteries frequently. When you fully drain the battery per Apple's suggestion, you are just calibrating the battery meter on the device (iPad, MBP, etc) and not really conditioning the battery itself. So I wouldn't do it frequently. I've only fully drained when the battery meter seems off; and to be honest I've only done it every 3-4 months and have no issues at all.
