Whatever helps you sleep at night. The fact is that isopropyl alcohol does not kill germs but simply moves them around.

A quick search returns many results that state the opposite of what you say. Alcohol kills germs and viruses - not all strains - but it does kill some. The length of time that the alcohol is in contact with the "germs"plays a role too.

That quick search also returns many results stating the opposite of what you say as well. So this is the conundrum called the internet. Which is why I tend to believe my personal physician and his nursing staff.

When I first got my iPhone a couple weeks ago Id wipe the screen down with the cloth it came with about once or twice a day. Now I find that I dont really even pay attention to the smudges on the screen because as soon as you wipe them off they are right back the next time you use it. Its probably been 5 days since I last cleaned my screen.

Are you obsessed with keeping a clean screen?

No. Never. I'm an older guy and have a holster. That keeps it clean lol
Yea, I know you won't get er..... a date.... if you carry your iPhone in a holster so they say, but I can attest to the fact... er maybe better keep my mouth shut, huh
Anyway the holster does a fine job.

I usually don't clean my iPhone screen too much because my pocket usually does a good job of cleaning the screen. I usually clean my "Apple trio" (iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch) all together. when I have to clean/wipe one down, I'll just wipe them all down :)

What kind of holster?

What! That is an amazing fact. I bet it has to do with the germs getting drunk. When they are drunk, their feet get wobbly and you can move them around.

You learn so much from these forums.

The oleophobic coating they put on the phone seems to do a really good job for about the first 3 months - only needing a wipe down once every day or so. After that it seems to get progressively worse. Admittedly I'm a little anal about it and keep a microfiber cloth (only thing that really works) in my bag at all times.

Heh. I clean it about as often as I clean my (eye-)glasses. About once a month. What with? Well, my (neck-)tie of course! It's why I have to wear one to work, isn't it?

A very cheap ebay holster. It's horizontal - belt clip ith loops too and has a softish microfiber typpe of inside - they all do. Heres a link to what im using now.
I have 2. One in black and one in brown and use em every day. Ive had this for 7/8 months and is in good shape. Only costs 6 dollars. Cheap and effective.

Got the belkin invisaglass at the apple store, got the phone last wednesday / the screen protector and apple leather case. Going naked for the last few days, as for the screen clean, pretty much cleaned it with my shirt maybe two or three other times but not too worried bout it.

When ever the accumulated smudges start bothering me. Actually, unless something horrible happened like dripping syrup on it, I don't clean my screen that often.
