How often do you guys repair permissions?

    I got my macbook in Novemember and just did it for the first time tonight. Seems a bit snappier. You guys do it about once every three months or so or what?

    Never unless I can attribute a problem to a permission problem.

    LOL, that's ok this thread made me think about doing it now as well since I'm not doing much but watching TruTV, drinking a beer and smoking a cigg (hooray self destructive ways)

    I often read suggestions to do it when folks complain that their machine is running slow.

    meh, it can't hurt, might help, so I guess if your computer is running slow then go for it.

    open up disk utilitie in the utilities folder in apps and then select your hdd and hit repair permissions

    I do it monthly when I do all of my maintenance. I use MainMenu to automate everything.

    When there is OS updates. That is the normal time for me to do it.

    I never repair them. My machine's never slow down.

    I thought I read that in >10.5.5, repairing permissions doesn't really do much...?

    Can help fix any permission based issues with the OS or Apple made Apps.
