Like the title says how often do you format and reinstall everything on your iPad ?
I've never "redone" an iPad. I've had most models, and just restore the new one from the backup of the previous model and keep going. No issues whatsoever. Just don't see the need to "redo" them.
I believe you can hide them, but my little bit of OCD also doesn't like the fact that you can't disown (is that good english?) them...
I was surprised by the experience because other than that- IOS has been a solid experience. One aspect I'm annoyed by is that if I download an app, try it (and not happy with it), there is no way to remove it from my library. I can remove it from the device(s), but it'll always be part of my app library. Anyway- getting off topic. Cheers~
Is what you describe not re-doing it? You basically erase everything, install a fresh OS and re-apply your backup.I do not think I have ever done it. I keep my iPad clean and lean. I always restore via iTunes with an encrypted backup and never have a problem.
Why would you redo your device?
nah, meh, mwah, yeah, I know what you mean, but this is when you buy a new device and you have no other option but o restore a backup. Is what you describe not re-doing it? You basically erase everything, install a fresh OS and re-apply your backup.

Every time you restore via iTunes, iTunes will make sure you run the latest version of iOS. It will automatically retrieve the latest version of iOS if your system is out of date. What? I am not the one "redoing" but When you reset to factory your iPad or iPhone the OS is existing and you do not "install a fresh copy". The only time I have used my encrypted backup is when I have a new device replacing the old one. I have never had any problems nor a need to "redo" any of my Apple devices so far.

In any restore case, iTunes will wipe the device, install the latest version of iOS and then apply your existing backup.
Sorry for the confusion!Sorry but the way you worded it it sounded like the user was to install the OS.
Sorry for the confusion!![]()
That's because is a Nexus 7... All other Android devices are crappyI've had a Nexus 7 Android tablet since 2013. It's been through three major versions of Android and I've never had to "redo" it.
