Hmmm, ok. I don't know why mine expires. I restart it every couple of days though. Mostly because I get to 0% of battery.

On an unrelated note, it's best not to let your phone get to 0%. It's bad for the battery health.

I use it as much as possible. Only time I type in my passcode is when the phone restarts. Also love using it for apps that support it, like 1Password. When they introduced it in the 5S I thought it was nice but nothing earth shattering. Still don't know if it's earth shattering but I can't imagine not being able to use it.

I would like to point out that I was having problems with Touch ID a while back on my iPhone 6, but this turned out to be because I suffer with dry hands!

Now that I've found a cream that really works for me (Aveeno, which moisturises the hands without leaving a greasy residue) Touch ID works 100% of the time.

Just a heads up for people who may be suffering with the same issue ...

I disagree.

I always run my iPad 4 and iPhone 6 down to the point where they turn themselves off, and the battery performance on both devices is amazing.

always unless i enter a known wifi then it does not ask me for touch id (cydia tweak)

what annoys me is that it requires to put in your apple id password after every reboot to use it for AppStore purchases like i already put it in rebooting! what more do you want! are they implying touchid isnt secure enough? very annoying

until it isnt ;)

If there are people that have a iPhone 5s or above and don't use Touch ID. Wow. That's pathetic. It's there, use it. It's miles quicker than putting in a complex password and it's still quicker than putting in a 4-digit passcode.

Never. I prefer the passcode and can type it as quickly as Touch ID. I tried it out for a few days but the success rate was only around 90% for me, so when I reinstalled iOS I didn't bother storing my fingerprints again. I might try it again sometime.

Then your TouchID is broken and it's also faster than typing even a 4 digit passcode. TouchID is really lighting fast and you only need one hand. Together with a more-than-4-digit passcode it's also way more secure.

Try scanning your index finger more than just 1 time and hold your phone like you normally would while scanning.

Apple invented the 4-digit passcode... and then invented the Touch ID to solve the 4-digit passcode.
Talk about inventing a solution to a problem you created in the first place.

Invented the 4 digit passcode? Woah let's not get carried away there.
I had a 4 digit passcode on my locker back in high school.

Don't tell me apple invented finger print technology on phones too -_-

Interesting poll ..... but ......

My 6+ has work access which entails a complex pin.
So, I use TouchID to unlock my phone whenever possible.
BUT .....
It fails to work after a reboot, if my fingers are damp, I have just washed and dried my hands, randomly for whatever reason, and loses accuracy over time. I asks me far too frequently for app store purchases to manually enter my password.

So, even though I try to use it ALWAYS, reality wise, I don't.

Sometimes to Rarely.

On both of my 5S's and my iPhone 6 Touch ID has always been spotty. It sometimes works perfectly and sometimes it doesn't work at all :(

Still better than my old Galaxy S5

Why would you not use it to unlock your phone?

It's a company issued phone. They're not about to change the password protocol which would impact twenty three hundred employees world wide. Apple's not the only enterprise with proprietary practices. However they certainly are the only company that's Magical and Revolutionary...Heh :)

Always. I like it much better than sliding to unlock (even without a password). One of the main reasons I sold my iPad air (which was not password locked) and upgraded to the iPad Air 2.
