How often does Apple update keyboards?

I am interested in when people can estimate/guess when the Apple keyboard will be updated based on how often Apple updates the keyboards?

Is there anything that Apple could improve on the current keyboards? Anything you would like to see changed?

Once in a blue moon. Last update was 3 to 2 battery configuration about 3 years ago. 😕
