I have a 1 year old 32GB wifi + cellular iPad 3. Bought it in March of 2012 at launch. It's still going strong and I haven't felt the need to upgrade. I would like a higher capacity though, so I will wait and see what the iPad 5 brings.

iPad 3 - about 8 months.
iPad 4 - just over 1 month.

iPad 5 better increase minimum storage capacity or improve a lot for me to upgrade again.

I got my iPad mini in November 2012. Before that I've had my iPad 1 for a couple of years. I bought it just before the iPad 2 was rolled out.

I have a 2yr 8 mos iPad1. Nowadays, we mainly use it for Netflix for our 2 year old. And just today, we got a new iPad mini. :)

iPad 3 here and it's about 6 months old :) won't be getting rid of it or upgrading it till it breaks because all I use it for anyway is basic browsing, gaming, watching videos and taking notes and I'm sure it will be fit for that purpose for a good few years yet :p

I got my iPad 2 a couple weeks after release. Battery life is still as good as new. Will be upgrading to iPad 5 once released.

Got my 3gen April last year and planning to keep it for a while. Had a 2gen prior to that for about six months, but updated when the retina came as I spend a lot of time reading pdfs.

iPad 2 and its still performing as well as it did the first day I got it. I don't see myself getting a new one until at least the iPad 6 or maybe 7. The fact that I can charge it in a couple hours trumps everything else.

Bought my iPad 64 AT&T (1st Gen) on 5/15/2010 and just purchased my iPad 64 AT&T (3rd Gen) on 3/10/2013. I'll be passing the 1st Gen down to my ten-year-old slightly spoiled daughter.

Ordered my 1st Gen 3G iPad on launch day ... received it a week later. Still using it every day.

Still using the original iPad, which was received for Christmas 2010. iOS 5 has really slowed it down, but it's still usable.

I know a guy who rocks a first-generation iPad. It seems to be working fine to me. I imagine the battery capacity decreased slightly, because after a few hundred charge cycles, the battery capacity drops by 20%, according to Apple.

I suppose I should ask. how's the condition? Like new? Has it ever been dropped? Or has it, through no fault of anyone who touched it since you got it, degraded (e.g, did the performance worsen?)
