That is funny. I know that is a urban myth in the US, but I didn't think any country actually had that law.mad jew said:I was pulled over for not wearing shoes . . .
mad jew said:Well, I learnt to drive when I was eight. I got my driver's licence when I was sixteen and then again when I was eighteen. I had to get it again because I lost the first one when I was pulled over for not wearing shoes and not having my licence with me (a requirement for young drivers). I've never spent AU$500 more stupidly.![]()
*Looks across at Derek the Dell and reconsiders*
mad jew said:The law here's appropriate footwear so the police can choose to book us for thongs (flip flops), barefoot, stilettos*, or whatever pleases them. *Umm... I got booked for barefoot driving. I promise...

Passed first time in a Vauxhall Corsa 1.0L, that thing was SO slow

mad jew said:Yeah, we drive on the left. Driving in Australia is mundane at best (unless you go to the Northern Territory). There are long straight roads (did I mention they're long) with very little roadside clutter (or anything to look at) yet 100km/h speed limits. A massive proportion of our road fatalities result from drivers falling asleep.![]()
My brother and four friends fell asleep in a Ford Falcon driving along one of your boring long roads. They woke up having hit a cow and a stop sign! The car, cow and sign were all write-offs. The photo of the scene is hilarious, dead cow, dead car and stop sign at 30degrees and nothing else as far as the eye could see.mad jew said:Yeah, we drive on the left. Awesome. Now if I could just find $8000 to cover hotel and flight, I can go get a bear.mad jew said:If you come through Sydney and need a beer, give me a yell (or a PM). I'm more than happy to extend that to any MacRumors members.![]()
