Personally I think 256 GB as the standard for the Pro would be a good thing to make a clear distinction between the Air and the Pro (heavy Pro users need more space). It's about time to increase to 256 GB. I mean, how long are they using 128 GB as the standard now? However, I don't think Apple will do this.

Well I guess what I meant is that buying something as expensive as the rMBP and only having 128GB, it's like getting a toy and not being able to use it. I don't even need to store that much stuff locally, and 128 is too limiting. Just my opinion.

Seeing how the price difference is now $200 and would be at least $100 even if Apple were to cut prices on SSD capacity, you think that people who want a rMBP with 128GB should be forced to pay $100 to $200 for SSD capacity they don't need (because Apple would need to charge a higher base price)?

Someday, SSD capacity will be cheap enough for this move to make sense, but I don't think we're there yet.

Exactly! My point exactly!!!!

The MBA did increase from 64GB standard to 128GB, but only on the 11", the 13" remain unchanged. I don't think they will up the standard config ssd on the 13" rMBP unless they offered a 1TB SSD option. Just call it a hunch.
