I am tempted to update my iPhone 6 to iOS10 on launch day next week, but there is an Apple Store right by my work that I can pop into during lunch and give the interface a test drive before deciding. Does anyone know how quickly they update their display devices at the Store? Should I wait a day or so after release?

EDIT: I should note, my local store is currently averaging 9.3.1ish on their devices (not fully up to date to 9.3.5). But I wonder if a major OS upgrade would inspire them to do a full update across the board?

Why not just have a go on the iPhone 7?

It's going to have the latest iOS version preinstalled unless you want to test out the performance on an iPhone 6.

If they're in store, i'd be fine with testing on a 7. I don't think the Store sells a basic 6 anymore to get the full functionality for my device. It's more of a exploration of the new OS for myself since I wasn't a beta tester and would like to see how it feels before installing on my phone.

Usually the night before release day they update all the devices. The night before a product launch day or software release day is very interesting and entertaining to watch if you ever get to.
