How quickly do pre-orders sell out?

They didn't let you preorder the iPad 2 last year, right? That's why I had to stand in line with all the nuts and yet still come up empty. That was so disappointing, I vowed never to do that again. I am happy they are allowing preorders, not all of their customers like being treated like cattle.

But I hope the preorder arrives sometime close to launch day.

Questions from a newb:

1) If I pre-order a 16GB now and later decide I want a 32GB, can I just go to the Apple Store with my unopened 16GB iPad and exchange it for a 32GB? Apart from the ~$100 cost of the upgrade, will it cost me anything additional?

2) If I pre-order two iPads (not sure if that's possible) and decide I only will keep one of them, can I return the other to the Apple Store for full credit? Would this cost me at all?

Yes to both. No problem with either. Returns are no problem for unopened items with a receipt.
