Trying to unlock a new iPhone 4 on the latest OS and baseband. I've seen the Gevey Turbo Sims on eBay but do they really work? If anyone has any experience with this type of unlock, please chime in.

I bought this via slickgate for $10 and it worked perfectly on my ip4 with baseband 03.10.

Just pop in the sim w/gevey and then wait for it to load up, it gives you the instructions on the screen, hit accept, dail 112 wait till the screen changes and then count to 3 after that hang up and turn on airplane mode and wait till it says no SIM (pop up) and then turn off airplane mode, you get a few more pop ups and then bham its unlocked until you restart

I have Simple Mobile service. I had been told to disable the 3G option on my iPhone 3gs. Now I have a new iPhone 4. With Gevey, can I now use the 3G enable? Will my phone work on 3G network? Thank you!

Thanks for all the answers and discussion. I'm a bit disappointed about losing the unlock upon a reboot. On another note, will OS 4.3.2 be un-lockable using the Gevey?

I just ordered the Gevey SIM Pro and waiting for it to arrive...
From what I've heard this Gevey Pro is better than the older version. On this version there's people who say you don't need to redo the 112 call everytime it reboots...
And yes Gevey SIM unlocks 4.3.2.

^^^^^^ That was just a rumor. The Gevey Pro has the same issue, it requires u to go through the procedure again if u reboot or lose service. Rebel was supposed to solve this issue but they have yet to ship their simcard

what if i go on a subway and lose service? would i have to unlock it again??

No you do not.

It will find the wireless signal when it becomes available, you do not need to go through the unlock process.
Only when you turn the phone off and back on, (or turn off/on the airplane mode), you will need to unlock it again.
