How should I setup my Mac Pro?

Hey before this computer I had a PowerMac G5 on 10.4.7. I saved an exact copy of the HD to a backup one, and was wondering, would it be OK to use Migration Assistant with it? Would everything work stable?

Some people have reported problems with migration assistant when moving from PPC to Intel. Speculation is that some components may be migrated over that require Rosetta to run, and may lead to slowdowns. This advice led me to manually setup my MBP (from a powebook g4)

While it may be more work, I suggest not using migration assistant.

However, you should be able to transfer selected programs and files from that external drive.
