How soon do you expect other carriers to adopt the iPad 3G?

All this unlimited plan has me thinking. The iPad 3G is unlocked, and AT&T's service, while better than no connection at all, is very ******. So is it even worth it to be all up in arms over AT&T nixing the unlimited plan, when, frankly, another carrier, Sprint for example, beings to offer their 3G service for the iPad? Still, at the end of the day, unlimited access for only $29.99 is a great deal without any other viable option (for non-iPhone users)

When do you all expect other carriers to start making affordable iPad plans?

The iPad is not locked to AT&T. It will work on any carrier that supports GSM at the same frequencies the iPad supports. You can use it on T-Mobile. The problem is it will be on EDGE because T-Mobile 3G operates at different frequencies the iPad supports.

Sprint/Verizon use CDMA so they would have to switch their entire networks over to GSM which seems unlikely.

Or just use a Verizon MiFi like I do. Coverage is great if you travel frequently like I do...

There are many carriers for the iPad. There are about 5 I can think of off the top of my head.

We have at least 4 here. AT&T sound really awful. Good thing they don't exist here.
