Do I just happen to live in an area where its really popular or is this phone really that hard to get? It's sold out everywhere and 2-3 week wait from Apple.

Only place that has any at all (16 gb model) is Best Buy but they actually charge more than Apple. It's only $50 but I won't buy from there out of principle.

Sorry, /rant.

It might help if you listed where you are, but that does stink. Have you checked at your carrier's store(s)? Corporate-owned ones tend to get them a little more often than independent dealers, but that's been more my experience with past iPhones (and helping friends get iPhones). Otherwise, what Chatter said, an Apple Store first thing in the morning might be your best bet.

What model/capacity are you looking for?

I'm looking for a 64 GB space grey. I live in the baltimore-dc are metro region.

I want to gift this to someone who travels a lot. So while they plan to use AT&T, I really need an unlocked phone. Her birthday is next Friday and im not hopeful of getting a phone in time.

I don't know where you are, but Apple stores around my area have stock everywhere. I just walked in and brought one. And I said in other thread that since my iPhone SE uses Samsung A9, I would return mine and get other one. I did today and they has plenty stock. Sadly, the new one still uses Samsung A9, I guess I am going to Apple Store again

Ah, I'd still check both the Apple Stores (SIM free model or AT&T model should be fine) and with AT&T stores - they'd be locked, but you might be able to buy them full price even if you're not a customer and should be able to if you are a current customer. AT&T will unlock it after the 2 week return window is over.

If you're buying from BB, just ask if they'll price match Apple. They definitely will, as I did the same when I got mine there about a week ago.

As far as availability goes, they seem extremely popular. Out and about lately I've seen quite a few people with them, so I'm assuming it's a hit.

I suppose you wouldn't be able to pick one up for me :)

I hear ya bro. Seems to be very popular in the dmv

I'd keep your eye on eBay. Right after the phone released they actually had them from official sellers at like 5% off, now all I can see is scalpers but maybe they'll put more up?

All the Apple stores within 300 miles of my location are also all sold out of the model I want. I check every 64GB silver model except Sprint, since the rest are all the same.

I have to buy from an Apple Store because I want to trade my 5s in and get the SE on a payment plan. Some carriers had them in store but that just isn't an option for me.

eBay is a scam

Some of it is. A majority of it isn't because of the competition they faced from Amazons growing popularity, they had to up their game.

On top of that a lot of the hate from eBay comes from the selling side (which Amazon also has) because of the excessive protections that are sometimes given to buyers, which in this case would be a benifit and not a drawback . eBay has a ton of reputable third party sellers now and has even large retailers such as Best Buy and toys r us offering deals directly through them. Also the 10-30% off eBay sometimes does directly on gift cards and such.

That's ridiculous to keep changing just because of the chip! Seriously..? I brought mine back due to build quality issues, not because it didn't have an apparently slightly better chip.. Jesus

People keep saying it is ridiculous to change the phone because of inferior chip. Let me ask you, I spend same amount of money, why should I stick with one with inferior. If one with Samsung chip is slightly cheaper l, then I would not change.

How inferior are we talking?

If you're crazy enough to keep swapping phones for this non-issue, may you keep getting the "inferior" Samsung version. Or if you're "lucky" enough to finally get a TSMC, May the screen be canary yellow or the camera and luck button rattle.

Crud. I'm in the same region and AT&T as well. I'm getting one for my daughter and one for myself as my summer outdoor phone. I wasn't aware they were so scarce and figured we could just pop on over to Apple and buy them when we were ready. I'm going to trade in my wonky 6 Plus that's been gathering dust on my shelf since I got the 6S Plus.

I just looked on line, and the Towson Town Center Apple Store shows "Available Today" for iPhone SE 64GB Space Grey (sim free)
Go for it!

I work at a Sam's club and we have a few in stock of the 16gb models. Might want to check Sam's if you're a member. Our prices normally match or are lower than Apple's. Pretty sure it's free for a 2 year contract or something like 96 cents.

Isn't the sim free version Usually available 30 days after it goes on sale? I thought I read somewhere that Apple doesn't sell the sim free until 30 days in order for the carriers to get there systems updated on sim free models.
