how to access hidden folder in ml

    I need to access a folder in Mac HD>opt>Cisco>..., but the opt folder is no longer visible in ml.
    I can see the same folder fine in that location on my mac pro running snow leopard.
    I know about holding down the key to make the newly hidden library folder show in ml, but I can't make anything work for this.
    Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Go to Finder, go to the Go menu, scroll down to Go to Folder... and type in /opt/Cisco/ click the Go button.

    I'm guessing you have used Terminal? USERNAME is you BTW!

    Try the command below exactly as it's typed (I'd use the sudo preface too)
    chflags nohidden /Users/USERNAME/Library

    Open finder, press Shift+Command+G and then type in the path of the folder you want. For example, for opt, it would just be "/opt" without the quotes. Notice the leading forward slash. You want that.

    Hit enter and you'll be in the opt folder. :)

    Or in the Terminal: "open /opt" without the quotes should open it up in the Finder as well.
