I have a Roland FANTOM-08 keyboard workstation, a 2021 M1 16" MBP running Tahoe 26.5, and Logic Pro 12.0. I decided to buy Roland's ZEN-Core Pro, the plug-in that lets you edit the ZEN-Core sound engine used on many Roland synths, when it went on sale last month for 60% off the normal one-time purchase price. I followed the AI-generated installation instructions (the only ones I could find). I verified that the installation was successful by selecting Logic Pro > Settings > Plug-in Manager > Manufacturer > Roland. It's there as Name: ZENOLOGY, Type: Instrument, Manufacturer: Roland, Version: 2.0.9, Compatibility: [check mark].
Next, in a project, I select Track > New Software Instrument Track. At this point, according to the Google instructions (and I've asked the question in several ways), I'm supposed to get a list of plug-ins to choose from (ES1, ES2, Vintage Electric Piano, etc.). Instead, Logic creates a new track with a default patch called Deluxe Classic by default. Double-clicking on it in the channel strip opens the editor for Vintage Electric Piano. I created another track and randomly chose a patch called Massive Saws. That was created from ES2.
First, how can I create a new track from a plug-in, rather than from a patch in the library that was created from a plug-in? At this point, I don't even know how to access ZEN-Core, short of randomly trying patches until I hit on one that was created with ZEN-Core. Second, is there a way to filter for all patches that were created from a given plug-in? I don't know whether ZEN-Core comes with the ~3,000 patches that are in my FANTOM-08.
