How to access Truecrypt encrypted NTFS partitions?

I recently switched bought a new MBA and expected Truecrypt and NTFS to "just work", like they do in Linux for quite some years. I was very surprised by the amount of manual work, just to get NTFS write support working.

Here's what I did.

1. Installed http://www.truecrypt.org/downloads
2. Installed http://www.tuxera.com/mac/macfuse-core-10.5-2.1.9.dmg

Then I was able to read NTFS partitions, but I couldn't write them, since Lion doesen't support this. I spent quite a few hours reseaching until I installed NTFS-3G:

3. Installed http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/2010/10/ntfs-3g-for-mac-os-x-2010102.html

Now I can write to NTFS partitions, although I get the 15 sec error message and it's very slow (about 10 MB/sec).

But truecrypt cannot open NTFS partition anymore.
What else can I do?

I finally found a solution!

The problem is that NTFS3G has some bugs (that's why it brings up this error message after 15 se, but works anyway) and the developers are not interested in fixing them (of course they aren't, they are much more interested in selling the commercial version)

So you have to edit a few files yourself, which takes about 2 minutes. It's all explained here under "MacFuse + NTFS-3G (older open-source release from Tuxera)"
