This requires iFile & PdaNet. These are what I've tested it with on the Mac.

    1. Create Network

    2. Connect your phone to that network (the wifi icon will not display on your phone).

    3. Select "WiFi Router Mode" in PdaNet.

    4. Launch iFile and choose Web Server, its the wifi icon at the bottom of your screen. It will display "Accepting connections at http://youriphonename.local:8080 or http://IPaddress:8080."

    5. In your browser, enter "http://IPaddress:8080" for your url.

You will now see your phone's file system and you and upload or download to your hearts content.

i thought you said without wifi? this is just creating an ad-hoc network. you don't even really need PDAnet...

and if you have iFile/PDAnet, you are jailbroken, so you don't need to use iFile's webserver. just download saurik's netatalk (iPhone AFP implementation), and the phone will automatically show up in the sidebar as long as the netatalk service is active (always on unless you get a toggle for bossprefs/sbsettings).

so a much easier way to do the above (if you're on a mac):

    get netatalk from cydia
    join your computer's ad-hoc network
    phone in sidebar

i'm curious as to how you can REALLY access the iphone without wifi at all. like, on a computer with no wireless adapter. is there a bluetooth file manager available yet?

Well you have to have some method of connecting so if your computer has no wifi then you will need a usb cable.

Using DiskAid for Mac requires USB but is very simple.. no OpenSSH required.

I guess I should have clarified. Access without wifi Internet. Which eliminates sftp.
