I'm new to the iPhone and just picked up a 4S. When I try to activate it at att.com/activations it tells me I need to do it through iTunes. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

You should have received a Quick Start Guide with the phone...
Anyway, do you have iTunes on your computer yet? If not, it's a free download from Apple. Do that first, then you'll plug the phone into your computer with the USB cable, and follow the instructions from iTunes.

AFTER you do the iTunes bit (which might take a while) then you will go to the ATT activation site and follow the instructions there.
