How to activate landscape mode in iOS 7?

I just updated my 3rd gen iPad to iOS 7 but I can't get it to display in landscape mode. any ideas?

depends on your Settings. if your Mute switch on the side actually mutes, then slide one finger up from the bottom of the screen and toggle the Rotation Lock icon.
