How to add iCal account on Mac

How to add iCal account on Mac w/ OSX 10.6.8 (note this OS has NO iCloud to select in System Preferences)

error message-
iCal found the CalDAV server p06-caldav.icloud.com but could not log in with the user name

I can log into iCloud w/ a browser using the same credentials.

Thanks, I had come across that in my search. Post is from 2011. I did send myself an invite but the URL does not appear to contain any 'PX value':

Apple may now use different URL's. Also the same post mentions the 'path' for which info is obtained from one's 'Mobile Me' account which I do not have.

Other posts on the subject are also older and may no longer be relevant.

You probably need to enable Two Factor Authentication on your Apple ID and then generate and use an App Specific Password to sign into iCal.
