I used a utility on my MacBook to add a line of text to the Mac OS X login window (where it shows the list of users), right under where it says "John Doe's MacBook Air," which is under "Mac OS X." I forgot how I did this, and I was wondering if there was a Terminal command to do so. If not, is there a plist file I can edit? Thanks!

Do you have dev tools installed?

com.apple.loginwindow.plist in the root Library Folder/Preferences
Use Plist Editor to change the entry: LoginwindowText

I don't remember if there is a character limit. I would duplicate the plist before doing this just incase.

Cheers
