I'm looking for a program to edit .pdf files (preferable free/cheap) so that i can add text to class handouts without altering the original file. (have notes over lying the original) Is this possible to do?
thanks
Chris

Unfortunately, Acrobat is probably the only way to do it. Preview certainly won't...

The good news is that Adobe do substantial educational discounts if you're a teacher or student.

Edit: Just to expand & after further reading... if the PDF has been enabled in Acrobat 7 (only), you can add apparently add comments with Adobe Reader.

But the PDF, when created, must have this option enabled in the first place.
