How to add ringtones & music without iTunes

is there a way to add ringtones and music to my iPhone without using iTunes? I have tried GarageBand and it does not work. Any suggestions?

I have googled it. I cannot find anything that works. Used to use CopyTrans, but they do not support the updated iTunes. Thank you for posting this link, but it does not help.

By the way, why not just use iTunes? Pretty straightforward imo...

Apple likes to tout their technology.

But we are all still in 2001 syncing through iTunes like the first iPod.
