iPod touch How to Adjust Backlight Time on Touch?

Hi: I'm using the Gen 5 Touch, 8.1.2...For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to adjust the amount of time that the backlight stays on...Right now, it is on constantly...Can I set the backlight for a specific amount of seconds and then have it turn off to save battery life? Thanks...

While you can't choose seconds for backlight to stay on, you can go to Settings > General > Auto-Lock to choose between 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 minute intervals.
