How to assign a "DEL" key to my keyboard

Hi, I just bought a Macbook Pro a couple weeks ago, and being a first time Mac user, I keep longing for the "DEL" key that is absent from the Mac keyboard. I understand that holding "fn" + "delete" functions as the forward delete "DEL" key but is there anyway I can assign another key (e.g., the "eject" key right above the delete key) to function as DEL?
