Not sure how I did it but it has an alert on my phone that my automation ran. Nothing on my watch it just updates. Unclick ask before running.
There is no "ask before running" toggle, when changing the watch face based on lacation.

I have this set to trigger by. Focus mode. “Arrive at LAX turn on traveling focus.. change watch to travel face of choice

I love the concept of personal shortcuts yet I Struggle to find a use for them. I WANT to make it work, but can't come up with scenarios to use them. I have a plenty home automations and consider myself a power user, but this, right here, is my first personal shortcut ever! Thanks MacRumors.

You could also use the MOD(current date) operation and IF function to create a repeating sequence for your watch faces. For example, if you have two watch faces A and B and you want them to be your watch face every other day, just calculate mod(current date) and set an IF function such that when the result comes back 0, set watch face A, otherwise watch face B.

I have mine set to pull my calendar entries and look for "vacation" so that way my "work" watch face can be set to not activate on those vacation days and on weekends.

For some reason this won’t work for the Unity Lights watchface. Unless this has been fixed in the latest watchOS update? Haven’t tried it lately.
Mine has Unity in the list but not Unity Lights. And those are the two I watch to switch between - digital in the house for timing some baby stuff more accurately and analogue outside because its nicer. And whilst I can see Unity in the list I can't see lights.

for those who want to have a watch face set automatically by location you’re correct that you can’t use the location trigger in shortcuts. However, you can have different focuses set automatically based on location and these do not require you to confirm before the focus is set. From there, create an automation that changes your watch face when a perticular focus mode is set. This will change your watch face automatically without requiring any input from you.

Thanks!

I was always switching between two Infograph complications for when I'm in the Canary Islands or back in the UK (Pollen Pro and AQI) so having them automatically change when I land at the airports either end is great!

I'm on the same updates but don't even see Unity in my watch face choices.

So when someone solves this I'm hopeful they'll let us know.

Wow, I need to get serious about other watch faces now. I have a few setup, but always go back to the same one. I like the idea of having one during the week vs weekend and one for home vs work.

This great! I have now a 7am to 5pm detailed Infograph, then 5pm switch to a simple traditional watch face and finally a sunrise to sunset at weekends simple infograph that doesn’t have appointments and things.

This article was actually useful and appreciated!
Now I can automatically apply the Mickey face every time I go to DLand! ?

Same. Siri watch face during the hours that I am at work, and a modular Watch face for weekends and after school hours.

How can I add a time zone to my automation to change a watch face? Thx!

Hi @Apple fan from Korea,

Sorry for my confusion. What I meant was that if I setup an Automation in Shortcuts to set a new watch face on my Apple Watch at a particular time, how can I add a timezone to this designated time--the Automation set-up screen only shows the time without a timezone picker.

My use-case is that I want to change to a particular watch face that shows a daily stock market chart for the S&P 500 ONLY while the market is open in New York City.....9:30am ET to 4pm ET. I don't live in that timezone and occasionally travel between two timezones and want to see the daily chart ONLY when the NCY market is open....regardless of where I am. This of course is using the Apple Stocks App on my Watch. See the pics below of my watch face and the two screens in the Automation part of Shortcuts on my iPhone used to change to this watch face when the market opens -- 9:30am ET. Also, when the market closes, I revert to another watch face -- at 4:30pm ET!

Does this make sense?
