    was thinking about something...
if someone texts me a very large file, say of a video, it seems there is no way for me to avoid automatically downloading it which would end up using up a lot of data.
so how can one avoid this? are we at the mercy of whomever sends a text?

turn off MMS messaging in settings > messages. Problem solved.

yes, if you never want to receive mms, but is there a way to limit what size files are automatically downloaded like in mail? seems like malicious prankster types could just text you a 300mb video file and use up a ton of data....

unless they lied, my carrier doesnt consider mms data as part of the data plan since the plan also includes "unlimited picture/video messages", ask ur provider
