Since updating to tvOS 10.1.1 with the Single Sign On Feature, I have to re-activate my Watch ESPN app almost every time I try to watch a game. This "feature" might be great IF the biggest service providers like Comcast were approved providers. As it stands, I can't use the feature and to make it worse, I have to reactivate the Apple TV multiple times a week for this app.

Is there any work around for this problem to make it function the same as the previous generation OS? For instance, I have turned off the TV provider and told the ESPN app to "never allow account access" since Comcast doesn't work with the single sign on feature. Somebody please give me an idea to that I don't have to waste time activating the box almost every single time. It's FRUSTRATING!!!

I don't have this issue with ESPN or the CNN apps but almost every other app I use has this issue. AMC, FX, USA etc..

I'm not sure what the fix is. I haven't tried completely restoring yet. I'm hoping we see an OS update soon that may resolve it.

I have the Re-Activation Frustration with the Disney apps and other channels. I hate it. I have Verizon FIOS and they say it is a security thing. but the AppleTV3 activates once and everything is fine.

the AppleTV4 needs a re-activation each week. or more often it seems

I've been going crazy with this issue this week with the Fox Sports app. Every night when I go to watch the ball game I have to reactivate. I'm on Cox, so no single sign on either.

Since this week's ESPN Watch TVOS update I too am now having the frustration of having to authenticate every day when I launch the APP. I sent them a customer service tag on the issue, let's see how or if they respond. Prior to this past update I only had to re-authenticate once or twice weekly.

Typical BS answer from ESPN watch:
Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

I apologize for any frustration this may have caused. This issue can normally be resolved by power-cycling your modem. Please unplug the modem, router, and Apple TV for 1 minute to fully clear the signal. Please plug in the modem, wait for the lights to load, then plug in your router. Next plug in your Apple TV, check for updates, log back in. Whenever experiencing issues with your Apple TV following updates, please try unplugging it as this will allow the system to self-correct most issues.

For live assistance with this or any other issue, please call Customer Care at 1-888-549-3776 (ESPN) between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. EST.

Regards,

Rebecca

Since the last update of the ESPN Watch app on TVOS the app will not remember my authentication credentials. What a hassle to have to re-authenticate every time I run the app. Please fix this issue ASAP

Well it has been two weeks now since my last credentials authentication and the App is working flawlessly. Evidently they did something to resolve the issue. I went from everyday authorization to not having to authorize the past two weeks. Well done ESPN Watch!
