I want to back up some Final Cut X events and projects but not all.

I will be using my new IMac with a thunderbolt dual drive set to independent and a Usb3 drive for backups.

Do I create a new library on the USB 3 drive and then copy selected events and projects over to that? Will just copying the event also copy the projects? Thank you; I'm a little confused about this.

It is very simple just go in FCP-X to the help section and ask for archive. or go on YouTube and have a look. Its better you look, so you understand how simple it is.

Yes, it's very simple. I never got around to understanding this, but now see how easy it is. Much better than trying to relocate all the files and folders that Final Cut Express used.
