Is it not possible to have OS X automatically back up to your iCloud Drive just as it would an external hard drive?

A ApfelKuchen macrumors 601 Sep 18, 2014 #2 Short answer? No. Backup of Macs is not a feature of iCloud Drive. Would it be nice to have an offsite Time Machine? Sure! For now, at least, it's not a feature of either Time Machine or iCloud Drive.
