of course the OP is talking about pirated apps, why else would he be interested in saving ipa files outside of itunes?!

as for the OP's question...there is a way, but you're gonna have to figure that out on your own.

Maybe he's confusing IPAs with app save files, and wants to ignore iTunes for some unknown reason. In that case iExplorer will do the trick.

I have some "App Gone Free" Apps, paid apps that were free for one day, I like to save the IPA of that to use on the same machine again. I don't like iTunes because it saves things that are "deleted" and make a mess on filesystem on the device.

Also some apps have some settings that "stay" even if I delete and reinstall the app
