alternatively... you could be yourself and wait until you find a girl that likes you, so there aren't any unpleasant surprises for her when she discovers that the guy she started going out with is completely different in reality.

If a girl asks you whether she looks fat, tell her that she not only looks fat --- she is fat. Then get her diet pills for Valentines Day/Christmas/anytime you want, along with a magazine full of girls you think are hot......skinny and hot.
I re-read the OP, sorry Abstract your plan would be perfect if he just wanted to be a jerk, but he wants to be a jerk that's liked by 'girls.' I don't think your plan would work quite so well in that second area.

right. you can be nice, but also be assertive and confident. IMO it's the confidence that girls really like - jerkiness often comes hand-in-hand with confidence, but it doesn't have to.
*gag* That is one of my biggest pet peeves. I don't want someone's grubby, oily, greasy fingers touching me. Disgusting.

I just read his post again. Not much to go by, but I think he's saying that girls like jerks, so be a jerk. If he's a jerk to girls, and a jerk in general, that girls will somehow find him attractive.
Well, if he's a jerk to them, maybe they'll have such low self-esteems that they'll hate him, but want to be with him anyway.
That's my take. I think it's crazy either way.
You see, this is what I meant by single guys who believe that girls always go for the jerks, and never the "nice guys" like themselves. I'm guessing Lamina believes he's the "nice guy", much like every other single person.

Not all jerks get girls. Hehe. So I was making that distinction while poking fun.

Girls like guys who are confident, self-assured and have a sense of where they are going. And if you want to go out with a girl, just ask! Even if she turns you down, she'll be flattered you took a chance to ask. It might even work to your advantage in the future.
And if she does say yes, keep dates informal and friendly. You'll know when it's okay to take it to the next step.

i hate jerks. don't become a jerk.
i know a few jerky friends...they are sorta fun for a little bit, but then you find out they are really jerky and just don't care for them much anymore.

It's not that they like the fact they are jerks... It's the confidence that they have! IMO
Actually if she still goes out with you, I'm not sure if he would still want to go out with her. Wouldn't you want the girl to be confident and at least be able to tell those jerks to go to hell?

Normally jerks get the girls that like to be treated like that, and so the relationship lasts very little. But the OP wanted to know "how to get girls by being a jerk", not "how to get a nice girl for a long, lasting, healthy relationship". Girl quality varies between options
