It's my understanding, that aside from jailbreaking, one can't. Which I agree, is a crock and Apple should change, but won't.

Yup, a service like TrapCall or Truecaller would basically be the way to go or at least to try (aside from being jailbroken and using some tweak).

I am with you and if they can't show their number they will not get an answer. I get so many robo calls that unless they are in my phone book I send them to VM. Our government's do not call list is a horrible joke on US!
