Hello - I just bought 2 unlocked iPhones over ebay here in germany.
Both are still 1.02 nd habe the app installer on it.
Both are different. One has germany meny titles.

As I want to continue with the phones by myself I would like
to bring the both iPhones in a condition like hey where delivered by apple.
This means they are locked by apple and not sim free.

Then I can reunlock them and ctivate them and I know what I have done.
So I am nit aware what the ownder did.

Can ynbody hlp me ? I searched all forums but I did not find a way to get them back to original state.

Is it possible to get them back ?

    Thank you in advance

I'm pretty sure performing a hard reset and re-installing the 1.0.2 firmware will reset to its 'factory state', and I think it re-enables the lock, too.

Find the 1.0.2 Firmware, and then when clicking restore in iTunes, press SHIFT and choose the 1.0.2 firmware you downloaded as the firmware to install on the phone.

There has been written evidence of this on the forums the past few days, try looking in the iPhone thread specifically, instead of searching.

Can I ask, what seller did you purchase them from? Would you mind Private Messaging me as I am in the market for one myself :)

how works a hard reset. I did read baot 1000 pages the last 5 days but I just did not find my answer. Perhaps my english is also not to good.
    Certainly you can email me.

    Thank you for the help.

I think I read and understand that a once unlocked iPhone cannot locked again.

P.S. This Forum is so great !!! As the iPhone - I love it.

NO. The unlock for 1.0.2 is restore resistant because 1.0.2 doesn't contain any updates for the modem. If he does a restore to 1.0.2 the phone will remain unlocked. Only 3rd party apps and will be gone. To clarify, an iTunes restore to 1.0.2 is not enough to relock the phone.

ah, as I thought - is there allready a way to get the original state ?
Means unlock ? A Time ago a Tool was promised to do so, but I think it did not come out

ok, after virginizing I can use any Tool to unlock again

so I know what to do in the future

right now I do not know which unlock they used - are all unlocks the same ?
I do not think so ...

69reichertm, you can (apparently) completely relock your iPhone by following the instructions at (as Compile 'em all pointed out).

Let me know how it goes because I am also interested in this possibility.

No, doing this to a phone that's been unlocked with iUnlock or AnySim will not fix anything. You will end up with an IMEI mismatch and a phone that cannot make calls.

    Hello !

so, now I am confused - one of you writes it is ok with the manual to downgrade - the other user now points out that I get an IMEI missmatch - what is now ok ?

Can I downgrade to 1.02 and virginize the iphone or not ?

When I now update to 1.1.1 - will the iphone then be "virginize" means working with at&t and locked like an original be, or will it be damaged ?

Please help, I am very confused.

    Thank You

I am also trying to restore to the virgin state. this website shows you how to do it on windows.

but the instructions are vague and it turns out to be quite hard as several people have already attempted to virginize their phones but to no avail.

I say you should wait for a relock app that (I hope) should come out soon.

    Hello !

Thank you for your answer. Do you think there will be a Tool for virginizing ?
Where will I find it ? Will it be from Tech Dev Team ?
    Thank you
