How to buy for overseas friend?

My best friend lives in the UK and I want to buy her either an iPad or Macbook Air.
She lives in Cornwall and at this time can't travel to London.

Any suggestions on how I can gift her a device, making the purchase in the US for her in the UK?

You buy it, get it delivered to your house and then you ship it to her.

You can try buying it from the Apple UK store with a credit card that has no foreign transaction fee, and ship it to her house.
