How to bypass the passcode on a Iphone 3g

i tried to retore it but it wouldnt let me.I have a iPhone 3G that i bought from craigslists. but im trying to get passed the passcode . i tried restoring it and now i have message saying "No Sim card installed ,insert a valid SIM with no pin lock to activate iphone "
If you have a 3G, and its yours, then you already know the passcode. If you do not know it, and its not yours, then return the phone to the owner. Do the right thing.

how do you expect to use it without a sim card?
If you want to use it as an ipod touch, borrow a SIM card from someone, you only need it to activate, then you can use it normally.

I honestly know how, only because some of my siblings would think they are cute and put passcodes. If you bought it from someone ask them for the code, or see if they stole it. I hope you didn't.
I'm sure some of the people who have had their iPhones stolen would demand that the thief get a good 5 years in the clink.
