If you have a 3G, and its yours, then you already know the passcode. If you do not know it, and its not yours, then return the phone to the owner. Do the right thing.

Ask the person you bought it from. Otherwise I suspect it's stolen

+1. Best advice in the thread, anything else could be assisting in some shady dealings.

how do you expect to use it without a sim card?

If you want to use it as an ipod touch, borrow a SIM card from someone, you only need it to activate, then you can use it normally.

    this sounds very fishy
if u brough it from a buyer, calll up the buyer n ask wat the code is

half the time , when selling a iphone on craiglist the iphone doesnt have a passcode for the seller

Sounds like the guy who walked past my table into the bathroom at Starbucks, emerged moments later, grabbed my iPhone off the table and ran.

Thanks to my password, MobileMe & my MBP, I wiped it moments later.

Thanks to Starbucks Security they got a clear image of him grabbing the phone.

Thanks to the local PD, he's now in jail.

You can't beat a system like that. :)

really, they put someone in jail for snatching an cell phone?

OT, you have to have a sim card in it. Or since it's a 3G you can hactivate it easly.

It's worth over $700. I think it is felony after $500, I believe.

This poster sounds sketchy. Glad people aren't helping him.

I honestly know how, only because some of my siblings would think they are cute and put passcodes. If you bought it from someone ask them for the code, or see if they stole it. I hope you didn't.

I'm sure some of the people who have had their iPhones stolen would demand that the thief get a good 5 years in the clink.

    It's stolen.

Yes. Thankfully there are security cameras just about everywhere.

I knew someone who was robbed of her iPhone 4 from snatch and run. The police found the perp and the phone after a few weeks.
