In my system preferences, i have applications installed that have system pref. extensions, like im sure everyone else does also.
I am wondering if anyone knows how to change the icon for said applications. I have a default apps program that doesnt have an icon so it just has the default application icon. I want to change it. because i am retarded strict about everything looking maintained.
I found the folder that has the system pref apps installed, /Library/PreferencePanes but that doesnt help.

Does anyone know where i would go to change the icon? i feel stupid i cant find it.

PreferencePanes icons

The standard Mac OS X preference panes are placed in /System/Library/PreferencePanes

Each .prefPane is an entry in the System Preferences and you can find its icon in ./XXXXXX.prefPane/Content/Resources/

Its name varies but it usually has a .icns extension.

For additional, non-standard preference panes, you should look at /Library/PreferencePanes

And follow the same scheme to find the icons.

I hope it is what your were looking for :D
